Parks & Rec board opens comment on department-wide master fee schedule

At its March 17 meeting, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board authorized a 45-day public comment period on a new TCJPR master fee schedule aimed for July 1, 2026 adoption, including a shift to household/youth pricing and changes to nonresident rates.

The Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation Advisory Board voted March 17 to authorize a “notice of intent to adopt” and open a 45-day public comment period on a department-wide master fee schedule, with adoption targeted for July 1, 2026, according to the board’s meeting record. The schedule is intended to consolidate fees across parks, recreation and the Community Rec Center into one master document. (See: Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting — March 17, 2026.)

In discussion, board members and staff described several of the bigger structural changes under consideration, including adjusting the “household” and “youth” membership structure and removing the current nonresident rate structure. Board members also raised implementation issues such as how class fees relate to instructor pay, how childcare pricing is structured under state DFS guidelines, and the need for proactive public outreach before any changes take effect. (See meeting record and linked fee schedule documents in the packet: Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting — March 17, 2026.)

Written comments to the advisory board can be emailed to parksandrecboard@tetoncountywy.gov, and the board’s materials indicate public comment is taken at meetings as agenda items are presented. After the comment period, the fee schedule would still need to move through the joint elected bodies (Jackson Town Council and the Teton County Board of County Commissioners) for final adoption before a July 1 effective date.
