Teton commissioners to weigh $33,427 permit-fee waiver for Walk Festival Hall
On April 7, the Teton County Commission is scheduled to consider waiving $33,427 in plan-review and building-permit fees for the Grand Teton Music Festival’s Walk Festival Hall renovation, citing ADA access upgrades and a WUI-code roof project.
Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled on April 7 to consider a full waiver of $33,427.49 in building permit-related fees tied to the Grand Teton Music Festival’s renovation of Walk Festival Hall, under the county’s fee-waiver policy for projects providing a “bona-fide community benefit.” The request covers $4,908.66 in plan-review fees (a refund of fees already paid) and $28,518.83 in building permit fees due at permit issuance. (See the Grand Teton Music Festival Fee Waiver Meeting Packet.)
County staff notes this is the second waiver request for the project. Commissioners previously approved a separate waiver in June 2025 for up to $10,800 related to the project’s development plan; staff estimates the two waivers together would total $37,939.99 in waived fees.
Project elements described in the packet include Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades (including an elevator and accessible restrooms), a roof renovation to meet Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) code requirements, and a redesigned ticketing/entry area intended to consolidate guest arrival into a single location. Staff reminds commissioners that the policy allows partial waivers as well as full waivers.
