Teton commissioners to weigh $65,000 road-sweeping contract with added routes
On April 7, 2026, the Teton County Commission is set to consider awarding Idaho Traffic Safety a $65,000 contract for spring sweeping of 77.48 miles of county roads and 47,850 sq. yds. of parking lots, expanded to include areas like Upper Gros Ventre Road and the Stilson Transit
Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled on April 7 to consider awarding Idaho Traffic Safety a $65,000 contract for the 2026 “Roads and Parking Lots Sweeping Project,” which removes winter sand, dirt and debris from paved county roads and select parking lots. The contractor would use rotary brooms and mechanical sweepers, with water for dust control and a mobile traffic-control plan, according to the county’s staff report.
County staff said Idaho Traffic Safety was the low bidder in a three-bid field, coming in below Asphalt Preservation ($79,147.25) and Superior Sweeping ($85,500). The county also noted the contractor has been the responsible low bidder on the annual sweeping project for the last six years.
The contract scope totals about 77.48 miles of paved county roadways and 47,850 square yards of paved parking lots. New areas added for 2026 include Upper Gros Ventre Road, Beckley Parkway, the Stilson Transit Center parking lot, and the Teton County Library parking lots in Jackson and Alta. The work would be funded through Road & Levee Fund 10.
Details are in the Teton County Roads and Parking Lots Sweeping Project Packet.
