Teton commissioners to award $196,325 Spring Gulch Road patching contract

Teton County commissioners meet April 21 to consider a $196,325 contract with Ridgeline Excavation to patch freeze-thaw damage on Spring Gulch Road. The work would be funded from FY26 Road & Levee contingency accounts and is due by May 8.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled April 21 to consider awarding Ridgeline Excavation a $196,325 contract to patch nine areas of freeze-thaw damage on Spring Gulch Road (County Road 22-4) between mileposts 1.08 and 4.28, totaling about 8,375 square feet.

Road & Levee staff said the extent of the damage wasn’t known until March 25 because the pavement continued failing daily, which led the county to advertise the project for only one week. Two bids were received; Ridgeline’s was less than half of Evans Construction’s $396,950 bid.

Staff is recommending the contract be paid from two FY2026 Road & Levee contingency accounts: $50,000 from Emergency Road Repair and $150,000 from Contingent O&M. Under the draft contract, work would be completed by May 8 after the county issues a notice to proceed. (The contract includes $1,000-per-day liquidated damages for late completion.)
