Teton commissioners to consider $25k composting training videos contract

On April 21, the Teton County Commission is scheduled to consider a not-to-exceed $25,000 contract with KGB Productions for English/Spanish composting training and education videos funded by a USDA grant.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled on April 21 to consider approving a contract with KGB Productions (not-to-exceed $25,000) to produce composting program training and educational videos for Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling (ISWR), reimbursable through the county’s USDA Composting and Food Waste Reduction grant. The request comes as part of a $300,000 CFWR grant awarded in 2024 that earmarked $25,000 for video-based training and outreach. According to the staff report, ISWR staff identified inconsistent training and seasonal employee turnover as barriers for “Curb to Compost” participants, and the videos are intended to provide clear instruction and reduce contamination problems. The core deliverables include a 3–5 minute kitchen training module plus cut-down versions, and a 2–3 minute “journey of a food scrap” video, each in English and Spanish, with and without subtitles.

Staff said ISWR issued an informal bid March 13 and received five proposals. KGB Productions was the top-ranked proposer and, within the $25,000 cap, offered additional deliverables such as short topic-based clips and a library of outtakes/photos for future outreach use. The suggested motion would approve the contract as fully reimbursable under the USDA grant, with no additional local match required.
