Jackson council to vote on JH Community School middle-school CUP, fee waiver

On April 20, the Jackson Town Council is set to consider a Conditional Use Permit for a new 7,250-square-foot Jackson Hole Community School middle school in the Business Park zone, plus a requested fee waiver estimated at about $27,926.

The Jackson Town Council’s April 20 regular meeting includes a Planning & Building agenda item for a “Community School Expansion Conditional Use Permit & Fee Waiver Request.” The packet says the Jackson Hole Community School is seeking a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to open a new 7,250-square-foot middle school (Daycare/Education use) in the Business Park (BP) zone, where a CUP is required for that use under the town’s land development regulations. (See the Town Council April 20, 2026 Regular Meeting agenda packet.)

In addition to the land-use approval, the applicant is asking the council to waive the town’s application fees for the CUP and both phases of the proposed buildout. The staff memo in the packet estimates the waiver at about $27,926, with potential additional trade-permit fees of roughly $800–$1,600; the memo notes the council can reduce, defer or waive fees if it finds the project advances significant community goals (including “extraordinary” educational or civic benefits). Public comment is expected as part of the item. Written comments to the council can be emailed to electedofficials@jacksonwy.gov, and the town’s agenda lists Zoom details for remote participation. (See the Town Council April 20, 2026 Regular Meeting agenda packet.)
