Teton commissioners to award $196,325 Spring Gulch Road patching contract

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled on April 21 to consider awarding an emergency Spring Gulch Road Asphalt Patching Project contract to Ridgeline Excavation, Inc. for $196,325, targeting repairs at nine locations on Spring Gulch Road (County Road 22-4) between mileposts 1.08 and 4.28. Road & Levee staff told commissioners the total extent of damage wasn’t known until March 25 because the road was continuing to fail daily during freeze-thaw conditions. Because of the late-developing scope, the project was advertised for one week; six contractors obtained bid documents and two bids were received, with Ridgeline’s $196,325 bid roughly half of Evans Construction Company’s $396,950. The work would be funded from FY2026 Road & Levee contingency accounts because the bid total exceeds the department’s operating budget, staff said.
