Teton commissioners approved 2026-27 scholarship recipients, alternates

Teton County commissioners voted April 7 to select recipients and alternates for two county-managed scholarship programs for the 2026-27 academic year. Names remain confidential until Scholarship Night.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners voted April 7 to approve the slate of recipients and alternates for two annual scholarship programs for the 2026–27 academic year, according to the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Agenda and the Scholarship Committee Staff Report.

The county-funded Continuing Education Award provides $1,000 per semester and can be renewed for seven consecutive semesters (excluding summer) within six years, for a maximum of $8,000 per student. The staff report says commissioners select three recipients and two alternates; eligibility is for students graduating from a Teton County, Wyoming high school with at least a 2.5 GPA, and the scholarship can be used at the University of Wyoming or an accredited Wyoming community college or technical institute.

The state-funded commissioners scholarship is also awarded to three recipients and two alternates. It pays $500 per semester ($1,000 per academic year) for students attending the University of Wyoming or an accredited Wyoming community college or technical institute, and can be used for graduate school and other programs, the staff report says.

The list of selected students was circulated to commissioners in a private March 25 email, and the county keeps names confidential until they’re announced at the community’s annual Scholarship Night ceremony organized through the Teton County Scholarship Program, the staff report says.
