Parks board to get update on $14k skate park water stub-up and fountain plan
Parks & Rec staff told the advisory board April 14 that TCSD agreed to connect and stub up water service at the skate park for about $14,000, with a drinking fountain estimated at $2,000–$5,000 depending on style.
Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation staff reported April 14 that they’re moving forward on adding water service and a drinking fountain at the skate park, after a request from community member Lynn Linker. According to staff’s departmental update, Teton County School District facilities staff (Mike Hansen) is coordinating with Linker and the contractor, and has agreed to “make the connection and stub up the water” for about $14,000, with the fountain itself estimated at an additional $2,000–$5,000 depending on style. (See Department Staff Report.)
The skate-park item appeared on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board’s April 14 agenda under “Updates,” with no action items scheduled. Staff said they would provide more detailed logistical information as it becomes available, including vendor options and installation details. (See Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Agenda.)
The update did not specify which entity will pay for the connection and fountain, or a final timeline for construction. Those details could surface in future department updates or if the work requires a purchase approval through the town/county budgeting or contracting process.
