Teton County set to award $65,000 spring road sweeping contract

Teton County commissioners are scheduled April 7 to award the 2026 roads-and-parking-lots sweeping contract to Idaho Traffic Safety after three bids came in, with the low bid up $5,500 from last year.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to consider awarding the 2026 Roads and Parking Lots Sweeping Project contract to Idaho Traffic Safety for $65,000 at its April 7 meeting, according to a county staff report. The annual contract covers sweeping sand and debris from about 77.48 miles of paved county roads plus select county parking lots, using rotary broom equipment and mechanical sweepers, with water available for dust control in some neighborhoods.

County staff said three bids were received: Idaho Traffic Safety ($65,000), Asphalt Preservation, LLC ($79,147.25) and Superior Sweeping ($85,500). Staff recommended Idaho Traffic Safety as the responsible low bidder.

The contract includes added areas compared with 2025, including Upper Gros Ventre Road, Beckley Parkway, and the parking lots at the Stilson Transit Center and Teton County Library (Jackson and Alta). The agreement anticipates a notice to proceed “on or about” April 8 and requires completion by May 15, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for late work. Funding is through the Road & Levee Fund, staff said.
