Jackson council to OK $1.81M FAA grant for South Taxiway A design

At its April 20 meeting, the Jackson Town Council is set to vote on Resolution 26-05 approving acceptance of a $1.81 million FAA Airport Improvement Program grant for Phase I (design) of South Taxiway A rehabilitation at Jackson Hole Airport.

The Jackson Town Council is scheduled on April 20 to vote on Resolution 26-05 authorizing the Jackson Hole Airport Board to accept a $1,805,522 Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant for Phase I (design) of a project to rehabilitate South Taxiway A at Jackson Hole Airport. Under the staff report, the Airport Board would be responsible for all financial obligations tied to the grant, including the non-federal share. (Town Council Regular Meeting Agenda Packet)

Town staff say the maximum federal share for the project is 93.75%. The grant would fund design work for the remaining southern portion of Taxiway A and connector taxiways A2 and A3; staff note the airport has completed related work in recent years, including rehabilitation of the northern portion of Taxiway A near the deice pad and reconstruction of connector taxiways A1 and A4 in 2022. The resolution also flags what comes next: staff estimate construction for the taxiway rehabilitation project at about $29 million and say a separate, future grant authorization would be required for construction funding. (Town Council Regular Meeting Agenda Packet)
