Jackson DRC OKs final design for 32-unit Virginian Lodge Apartments
On April 8, 2026, Jackson’s Design Review Committee granted final design approval for the Virginian Lodge Apartments (P25-232) at 750 W. Broadway, a four-building, 32-unit project within the larger Virginian Lodge property.
Jackson’s Design Review Committee approved the final design for the Virginian Lodge Apartments (P25-232), a 32-unit, four-building apartment project proposed at 750 W. Broadway, during its April 8 meeting. The two-story buildings (just under 22 feet tall) are planned for the southeast corner of the roughly 7.79-acre Virginian Lodge property in the CR-3 zone, with one- and two-bedroom units and second-level exterior stairs/walkways connecting buildings. (Design Review Committee Agenda Packet)
The packet describes a revised site layout the committee had encouraged through earlier reviews: two of the western buildings were rotated and repositioned to form a west-facing U-shaped courtyard, intended to create a shared green-space amenity and strengthen “place-making” compared with an earlier layout that staff said resembled a motel configuration. The updated concept also moves upper-level stairs to the courtyard center for clearer wayfinding and adds more landscaping buffers between units and the adjacent parking area. Staff noted the project generally appeared to comply with CR-3 standards, but that the required Development Plan had been submitted separately and remained under review at the time of the DRC’s final design action. (Design Review Committee Agenda Packet)
