Teton commissioners to workshop Climate Sustainability ‘community-wide’ initiative

Teton County commissioners meet April 13 for a 30-minute workshop on the county’s Climate Sustainability Strategic Initiative labeled “Community-Wide.” The calendar does not include a packet, so it’s unclear what targets, costs or next steps staff will propose.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to hold a 30-minute workshop during its April 13 voucher meeting on the county’s “Climate Sustainability Strategic Initiative – Community-Wide,” according to the county commissioners’ calendar. See: Local Board Regular Meeting Agenda.

As of the latest publicly posted materials in the county’s document system, the calendar entry does not link to an agenda packet or staff memo laying out proposed emissions targets, work program, budget impacts or recommended commissioner direction. That means residents may not yet be able to review what, if anything, commissioners will be asked to decide beyond receiving an update.

If supporting materials are posted before the meeting, key questions to watch include whether staff proposes county-only actions (operations, buildings, fleet) versus “community-wide” measures (transportation, building energy, waste), what milestones/timelines are suggested, and whether commissioners schedule a follow-up work session or future action item.
