Teton commissioners approve confidential 2026-27 scholarship recipient slate
On April 7, the Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved a confidential slate of six scholarship recipients (plus alternates) for 2026–27 county and state-funded awards that will be announced at the community’s Scholarship Night.
The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted April 7 to approve a confidential slate of scholarship recipients and alternates for the 2026–27 academic year, covering two programs the board awards each spring: the county-funded Continuing Education Award and the Commissioners State Funded Scholarship. Names were provided to commissioners in a private email March 25 and are being held until the community’s annual Scholarship Night ceremony, according to the county’s staff report. Under the Continuing Education Award, commissioners select three graduating seniors (plus two alternates) from a Teton County high school with at least a 2.5 GPA. The award pays $1,000 per semester, is renewable for up to seven consecutive semesters (excluding summer) within six years if the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA, and has a stated maximum value of $8,000 per student. The separate state-funded scholarship also includes three recipients and two alternates, and is limited to students attending the University of Wyoming or another accredited Wyoming community college or technical institute. That scholarship is paid at $500 per semester ($1,000 per academic year), the staff report says, and has historically been awarded to high school graduates though it can be used for graduate school and other programs.
