JH Travel & Tourism board to formalize quarterly 'Community Partnership' grants
At its April 9 meeting, the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board will review its Q4 Community Partnership process—an opportunistic, quarterly grant program funded by lodging tax—and outline eligibility and reimbursement rules for applicants.
The Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board (JHTTB) is scheduled to review its quarterly “Community Partnership” grant program at its April 9 meeting, using a standardized application that frames requests around destination management/development/marketing/stewardship goals and the county’s Sustainable Destination Management Plan (SDMP) stewardship priorities. See the agenda item labeled “Community Partnership Q4 Application Review.” (Lodging Tax Board Meeting Agenda; Community Partnerships Funding Application Attachment)
The application materials also spell out key guardrails likely to shape any policy the board adopts for quarterly awards: funds must be used for “travel and tourism promotion” purposes under state law; capital construction/improvements and other capital expenditures are listed as ineligible; and awarded dollars are paid as reimbursements after invoices/vouchers are validated and approved at a regular board meeting. The form further notes the board “encourages reduced funding requests for the same project year over year” to spread dollars more equitably across the fiscal year. While the April 9 packet includes a broader “funding requests and awards” financial report for major event funding, the Community Partnership application itself does not set a fixed dollar cap per request; instead, it requires applicants to state the requested amount, upload a line-item budget, and disclose other funding partners. Board discussion could clarify whether JHTTB intends to add caps or scoring/eligibility criteria beyond the current review by the executive director and county attorney before projects are brought to the board.
