Teton commissioners to award $65K road and parking-lot sweeping contract
On April 7, the Teton County Commission is set to award a $65,000 spring sweeping contract to Idaho Traffic Safety, up $5,500 from 2025, expanding the annual cleanup to additional roads and public parking lots.
Teton County commissioners on April 7 are scheduled to award the 2026 “Roads and Parking Lots Sweeping Project” contract to Idaho Traffic Safety for $65,000, after the company submitted the low bid in a three-bid opening, county staff reported. The work covers spring cleanup of sand and debris from paved county roads using rotary brooms and mechanical sweepers, with water trucks used as needed for dust control and air-pollution abatement in residential areas. County staff said the bid is $5,500 higher than the 2025 sweeping contract, which was also done by Idaho Traffic Safety. The 2026 scope adds Upper Gros Ventre Road and Beckley Parkway, plus several parking lots including the Stilson Transit Center and the Teton County Library’s Jackson and Alta branches. The contract scope totals about 77.48 miles of paved county roads and roughly 47,850 square yards of parking-lot area, with some locations requiring special sequencing (for example, Alta Ski Hill Road scheduled last due to potential late sanding) and sweeping techniques (such as directing material toward the guardrail along the Hoback Junction South Road retaining wall). Funding is through the county’s Road & Levee Fund, staff said. (Teton County Roads and Parking Lots Sweeping Project Packet)
