Teton commissioners to award 3-year fair rodeo stock contract to Diamond H

On April 7, the Teton County Commission is scheduled to award the 2026 fair rodeo stock-contractor agreement to Diamond H Rodeo for up to $25,000, with optional 2027–28 renewals at 2% annual increases.

Teton County commissioners are scheduled to consider awarding the Teton County Fair’s 2026 rodeo stock-contractor agreement to Diamond H Rodeo, with a contract cap of $25,000 (including $2,000 for mini bulls). The recommendation comes from the Fair Board after an RFQ process that drew two proposals: Diamond H Rodeo and Jackson Hole Rodeo. See the county staff report and draft agreement in the Fair Rodeo Board Staff Report Packet.

According to the packet, the Fair Rodeo Committee interviewed both bidders and scored Diamond H Rodeo substantially higher overall (1,074 points vs. 640 for Jackson Hole Rodeo). Staff also noted the fair’s shift this year toward three-year “fair service contracts” to improve rate stability and budgeting, after years in which rebids often produced only one bidder.

The draft agreement is written as a one-year contract for the 2026 fair, with the county able to renew for up to two additional one-year terms (2027 and 2028) at the county’s sole option, subject to performance, continued need, and annual appropriations. If renewed, the total approved compensation would increase 2% per year (compounded), per the contract language.

If commissioners approve the award as recommended, the $25,000 is expected to be budgeted in FY27 under the fair’s “Contracts & Services” line item, according to the staff report.
