Jackson council to hear Whole Foods liquor-license ownership transfer April 6

The Jackson Town Council is scheduled April 6, 2026 to hold a public hearing and vote on transferring the retail liquor license at 1155 S. Highway 89 (Whole Foods) from a limited partnership to a new LLC with the same owners, according to the council packet.

The Jackson Town Council will consider — in a required public hearing with opportunity for protest — an application to transfer ownership of a retail liquor license for the Whole Foods location at 1155 S. Highway 89 at its April 6 meeting. Staff recommend approval and outline a six-step process: open the hearing, staff presentation, public comment/protests, council discussion, a motion/vote, then closing the hearing. According to the staff report, the current license holder is Whole Foods Market Rocky Mountain/Southwest Limited Partnership and the applicant is WFM CW Limited Liability Company. Staff say the ownership members of the new LLC are the same as the current entity’s ownership, describing the request as a change in the business entity holding the license rather than a change in who controls it. The packet indicates the town received the application on Feb. 16, 2026. Council action on April 6 would be the local approval step for the transfer; the item is listed as a “Public Hearings, Discussion and/or Possible Action” agenda item with public comment enabled.
