Teton BOH to consider 2026 update to county Food Rule March 17

Teton District Board of Health’s March 17 agenda includes considering a 2026 revision to the Teton County Food Rule, which governs local food-service standards. The agenda packet posted so far does not include the draft rule text.

The Teton District Board of Health was scheduled to consider a “Teton County Food Rule, 2026 revision” at its March 17 regular meeting, according to the posted agenda packet (Board of Health Meeting Agenda).

The Food Rule sets local requirements for food establishments (restaurants, caterers and mobile food operations) and is typically updated to align local standards with state guidance and clarify permitting and inspection expectations.

However, the agenda packet available in the county’s posting includes only the agenda language and does not include the proposed redline or draft rule text, staff memo, or a summary of specific changes. Without those materials, the public can’t evaluate what requirements might change or provide informed comment.

Next steps: the county should post the proposed 2026 revision (and any staff summary) alongside the agenda item so residents and regulated businesses can see what’s being considered before action is taken.
