JH Travel & Tourism board votes to open payroll account and get its own EIN

In Feb. 12 minutes, the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Joint Powers Board voted 5-0 to open a dedicated payroll account at First Interstate Bank and obtain a unique EIN for future payroll reporting and filings.

The Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Joint Powers Board voted 5-0 on Feb. 12 to open a dedicated payroll bank account at First Interstate Bank and to obtain and use a unique Employer Identification Number (EIN) assigned specifically to the Joint Powers Board for payroll reporting and federal filings, according to the meeting minutes.

The motion also authorized staff to “add the new EIN to all existing JHTTB bank accounts,” framing the change as an administrative step tied to payroll operations rather than a program or marketing decision. The minutes did not include a detailed explanation of what prompted the change or any discussion of staffing impacts.

The vote came during the board’s Feb. 12 regular meeting, which also included approval of vouchers and the FY27 proposed budget recommendation to the town and county. See: Regular Meeting Minutes (Feb. 12, 2026).
