Jackson Town Council approved awarding the Town’s 2026 Spring and Fall Patching and Overlay Project (Project 26-13) to Evans Construction Company of Jackson for $822,925 and authorized the mayor to sign the contract, subject to Town Attorney and Town Engineer approval. The bid was the lowest of three received Feb. 17. (2026 Spring and Fall Patching and Overlay Contract Award; Contract award staff memo)

The work includes about 50,000 square feet of pavement patching, 50,000 square feet of overlay paving, and 100,000 square feet of alley paving. Staff told council the intent is to keep up with pavement deterioration (potholes, cracking and unraveling) and avoid a growing backlog of street maintenance. Construction is planned in two windows: spring work from about April 15 to May 22, 2026, and fall work to be completed by Oct. 15, 2026. The spring portion is funded from FY26 Annual Street Reconstruction dollars ($304,825) and the fall portion from FY27 Annual Street Reconstruction dollars ($518,100); the Town may voluntarily terminate the contract if FY27 funding is not approved.
