Jackson Council previews FY27 revenue options in March 16 budget workshop
At its March 16 workshop, Jackson Town Council was scheduled to review FY27 sales/lodging tax projections and discuss reserve targets, property-tax mill assumptions and other revenue tools to model.
Jackson Town Council’s March 16, 2026 workshop agenda included a 30-minute budget item: “FY27 Sales & Lodging Tax Projections, Setting the General Fund Reserve Amount, Property Tax Mills to be Assessed, and Discussion of Available Revenue Options,” presented by town finance staff. The agenda lists the discussion as a workshop topic (not an ordinance or resolution vote).
The agenda does not, by itself, include the underlying staff memo, projections, or any direction council gave to staff on reserve targets, mill levy assumptions, or which new revenue tools (if any) should be modeled for the FY27 budget build. If/when the town posts the staff presentation or minutes, those documents should clarify whether council signaled changes to its reserve horizon, interest in property-tax adjustments, or other revenue strategies.
Council’s March 16 workshop also included the utility rate/water-efficiency ordinance discussion and a land development regulation “visioning” item, suggesting FY27 budgeting will be shaped alongside major utility and planning policy choices.
