Teton commissioners approve $68,144 powered gurney system for new ambulance

On March 3, 2026, the Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved buying a Stryker Power Loader and Power Pro 2 gurney for $68,144.31 for a new FY26 CIP-budgeted ambulance.

Teton County commissioners approved a $68,144.31 purchase of a Stryker Power Loader and Power Pro 2 gurney system for a new ambulance included in the county’s FY26 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget, according to the March 3 staff report. The package includes a $32,967.22 Power Loader and a $35,177.09 gurney. (Board of County Commissioners - Staff Report: Purchase of Stryker Power Gurney System)

Fire/EMS Chief Mike Moyer told commissioners the department and the Teton County Coroner’s Office already use similar Stryker power-load systems to reduce staff and patient injury risk and to improve crashworthiness by providing a more secure gurney-to-ambulance connection. The gurney is rated to hydraulically lift patients up to 700 pounds at the push of a button. (Board of County Commissioners - Staff Report: Purchase of Stryker Power Gurney System)

The purchase was presented as a sole-source procurement from Stryker Sales LLC because the department’s existing fleet uses the same system and responders rely on consistent training and troubleshooting familiarity across ambulances. Commissioners were asked to approve the purchase “from the approved FY26 CIP budget.” (Board of County Commissioners - Staff Report: Purchase of Stryker Power Gurney System)
