Housing Supply Board met to focus on 90 Virginian Lane workforce project

The Housing Supply Board held a March 5 special meeting focused solely on 90 Virginian Lane as electeds weigh funding and phasing for the 221-unit deed-restricted development.

The Jackson/Teton County Housing Supply Board held a special meeting March 5 dedicated entirely to discussion of the 90 Virginian Lane affordable/workforce housing development, one of the community’s largest planned deed-restricted projects. The posted agenda did not include a vote or attachments beyond the single discussion item. (Housing Authority Meeting Agenda)

The meeting came just days before a March 9 joint Town Council–Teton County Commission session where electeds were scheduled to give direction on key deal points that shape how the project moves forward: whether the rental phase or the for-sale phase is built first; whether to contribute the previously discussed $10 million now; whether to commit an additional $10 million; and what oversight/control tools the Housing Authority should hold in the rental ownership entity (such as a special limited partner interest or sub-developer role). Staff described 90 Virginian Lane as a two-phase concept delivering 221 permanently deed-restricted homes, currently contemplated as 161 rentals in the first phase. (Town Council Staff Report)
