Teton County OKs Montana Road sewer easement for church employee housing

On March 3, county commissioners approved a permanent sewer easement across county-owned Montana Road so Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole can connect its proposed employee-housing site to Jackson’s sewer system.

Teton County commissioners on March 3 approved a permanent, non-exclusive sewer easement across a county-owned parcel that includes Montana Road, clearing the way for the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole’s proposed employee-housing project to connect to the Town of Jackson sewer system to the north.

According to the county engineer’s staff report, the church is planning “several new buildings for employee housing” at 1201 S. Park Loop Road (inside the town limits). Because Montana Road is owned by Teton County (not just encumbered by a road right-of-way), the sewer line must cross county property to reach existing sewer infrastructure. The easement language includes requirements for patching where the work affects the road and pathway. Teton County Board Meeting Agenda Packet

Under the easement agreement, the church is responsible for installation and for restoring any disturbed road/pathway sections (including subbase, base and asphalt surface courses) and for grading/topsoiling/seeding disturbed areas to Public Works’ satisfaction. The county reported no fiscal impact. Teton County Board Meeting Agenda Packet
