Town, county to extend START’s Driggs bus-storage lease through Oct. 2027

On March 9, Jackson’s Town Council and Teton County commissioners are scheduled to vote on extending START’s indoor bus-storage sublease in Driggs, Idaho, at $1,800/month, after the prior agreement lapsed in 2019.

Jackson Town Council and the Teton County Board of County Commissioners are scheduled to vote March 9 on a “First Amendment” extending START’s indoor bus-storage agreement in Driggs, Idaho, which START uses to store three over-the-road motor coaches and cleaning equipment. The subleased area is 3,643 square feet at 1420 N. Highway 33, according to the packet. START Board Meeting Agenda Packet.

The amendment would formalize an extension after the original sublease term ended Sept. 30, 2019. START and the City of Driggs “operated in good faith” after that date under the belief the arrangement remained covered by the city’s master lease, the staff report says. Under the proposed amendment, the agreement would be effective Nov. 1, 2025, and run through Oct. 31, 2027—timed to align with the City of Driggs’ master lease, which expires Nov. 1, 2027. Rent would remain $1,800 per month, plus utilities, unchanged since 2017, per START staff. START Board Meeting Agenda Packet.
