Justice Center project plans March 4 public sale of old courthouse furnishings

A March 2 project update says Teton County will hold a public “garage sale” March 4 for remaining courthouse furnishings as departments relocate into temporary modular offices ahead of courthouse demolition slated to start March 9.

Teton County’s Justice Center project team scheduled a public “garage sale” for March 4 to sell remaining furnishings from the courthouse and related temporary offices as move-out and demolition work ramps up, according to the latest monthly update.

The March 2 update says items were first offered internally to other county departments and the Town of Jackson, then to county nonprofits, before being made available to the public. The same update notes the County Attorney’s Office and District Court Clerk’s Office already relocated in mid-to-late February, with broader moves into the new modular temporary courtrooms/offices continuing through March 4.

Demolition work on the Hansen Courthouse was scheduled to start Feb. 23, and demolition of the existing Teton County Courthouse was scheduled to start March 9, the report says. The public sale is framed as part of ongoing coordination to dispose of furniture and equipment that will not be reused in the temporary facilities or the new Justice Center.

Details on the sale logistics and any remaining available items are included in the project monthly update packet: Teton County Justice Center Project Update Packet.
