Teton commissioners approve $23,714 change order for Justice Center temp offices

On March 3, the Teton County Board of Commissioners approved Change Order 006 ($23,713.99) for the Justice Center’s temporary modular offices, covering freeze-protection and electrical/code fixes paid from project contingencies.

Teton County commissioners voted March 3 to approve a $23,713.99 change order for the Justice Center project’s temporary offices/modular facilities, a package of fixes aimed largely at winterization and code compliance. The action approved “Change Order 006” with DPR/GE Johnson (now operating as DPR Construction locally), per the county’s staff report. Justice Center Staff Report

According to the staff report, the largest line items were additional freeze protection for the domestic water connection between buildings ($4,667.76), rough-in work for a possible domestic water pump to address water-pressure concerns ($4,911.75), and added insulation under the temporary facilities to protect drain/waste/vent piping ($10,436.02). Other elements were listed as contractor-contingency items at $0 cost to the owner, including electrical panel coordination/expedited shipping, MEP reroutes, replacing non-compliant exterior emergency lighting, and a mechanical unit repair. The change order is part of the broader temporary-relocation effort needed while the county replaces the existing courthouse and detention center with the new Justice Center. A separate project update report earlier in March noted preparations for moving courthouse users into the temporary courtrooms/offices and described the effort as part of the overall Justice Center delivery.
