Teton County OKs temporary Montana Road access easement for church housing

On March 3, the Teton County Commission approved a temporary easement letting the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole use county-owned Montana Road for access tied to its planned 21-unit housing project at 1201 S. Park Loop Road.

Teton County commissioners on March 3 approved a temporary access/ingress/egress easement over county-owned Montana Road for the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole’s planned 21-unit housing development at 1201 S. Park Loop Road. The agreement is intended to provide legal access while the county considers formally designating Montana Road as a county road in the future. The easement is temporary and would terminate once Montana Road is designated a county road — but only if the future designation preserves the church’s access rights and does not require relocating its access. The easement area is about 0.19 acres. Teton County Board Meeting Agenda Packet

As conditions, the church must grant the Town of Jackson a permanent pathway easement along the west side of the property and build pathway segments along the west and south sides, improving the existing shared roadway/pathway alignment on Montana Road. The county also committed to partially reimburse pathway surfacing costs for about 700 feet along South Park Loop Road (staff estimated $108,000, to be budgeted in FY2027).
