Planning Commission to Review FY27 Long-range Planning Work Plan

On March 4, the Planning and Zoning Commission will review the FY27 long-range planning work plan and updated indicator report. Key priorities include water quality, conservation, and regulatory amendments. No formal action is required, but recommendations to the County Commissio

The Teton County Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to review the Fiscal Year 2027 Long-range Planning Work Plan and updated Indicator Report at its March 4 meeting. The work plan sets priorities for upcoming County planning efforts and typically informs funding requests ahead of the annual budget process, which begins in June. While the Commission is not required to take formal action, staff encourage members to recommend projects for inclusion in the work plan.

The FY27 work plan, presented by Principal Long Range Planner Ryan Hostetter, focuses on several initiatives: amendments to water quality regulations, a review of Planned Residential Development (PRD) tools, continued habitat mitigation planning, modernization of conservation easement oversight (Scenic Preserve Trust), county addressing policy, and public-initiated land development regulation and zoning map amendments. Joint projects with the Town of Jackson, such as the Comprehensive Plan update and annual indicator reporting, will also continue.

The updated Indicator Report tracks metrics on growth, housing, economy, and environment. Last year’s report noted residential growth nearing a 7% Comp Plan trigger for reviewing and updating key planning goals. Outreach for the work plan has included local technical experts and conservation groups, with continued input expected as projects advance.
